    Come on a horseback riding adventure and experience the Wild West. No matter what trails you choose to explore, whatever your experience level, you are sure to have a memorable time discovering our unique area.


    Private 1 Hour Mesa View Ride | 190 per person

    Time: 1 hour; rating easy; max 6 guests per wrangler

    This ride is perfect for beginners or those looking for a shorter, scenic trail ride while still being able to take in the amazing views of Parriot Mesa and Castleton Tower. The trail winds along the top of a ridge and includes a brief stop for a photo with a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

    90 Minute Featured Private Ride | 260 per person

    Rating: Easy; max six guests per wrangler

    Our 90-minute ride is our guest favorite. Enjoy a wonderfully scenic, relaxing trip recommended for riders of any ability level. The equestrian trail winds its way through Ida Gulch up and over the rolling foothills and into the base of Parriott Mesa and the iconic Castleton Tower, AKA Tombstone.

    Our private rides depart at the time of your choosing (weather dependent). Come and enjoy the best equestrian trail in all of Grand County. Our unique location offers views unparalleled to any other horseback ride in the world.

    Private 2 Hour Rubik’s Cube Ride | 340 per person

    Time: 2 hours; rating intermediate to advanced; max 6 guests per wrangler

    The ride starts with heading out into our fields and through the Stearns Creek Wash. About a mile in you’ll start winding and climbing about 400 feet up the red dirt mountains. The trail summits at a massive outcrop of boulders called, Rubik’s Cube. You’ll take a brief stop here to witness the ancient petroglyphs that the ancestral Puebloans left behind some 800 years ago. You’ll then head into the base of Convent and Parriot Mesa, while finishing with the ridge trail with views of Castelton Tower. This trail gives you the most breathtaking and historical equestrian experience in all of Grand County.

    Junior Wrangler Program

    Time: 2 hours for children 5 and up | 200 per person

    Is a career as a Wrangler in your future? Join us for a 2 hour learning day about the roles and responsibilities of a Wrangler. During your 2 hours as a Junior Wrangler you will shadow one of the Sorrel River Wranglers through their work routine. Participation includes: feeding and water the stock, restocking feed bins, cleaning pens and stalls, collecting eggs, feeding and petting our goats, pigs, chickens, and rabbits. You’ll also learn grooming and groundwork techniques and how to saddle your own horse. We look forward to showing you the Western Cowboy way at Sorrel River Ranch

    You will be matched to a horse that meets your experience and riding ambition and fitted with a comfortable saddle and tack. A surreal horseback riding experience in Moab awaits.

    And if you would like a little instruction, we offer Western Riding Lessons, covering the basics of horsemanship to learning how to lope. This 60-minute Western riding lesson with our experienced team will provide you with all the foundations of true Western-style riding. Perfect for never-evers or as a refresher course for a less confident rider, a lesson is also a great warm-up for one of our many group or private rides.
