Ranch receives regulatory clearance to resume operations following completion of water system requirements
MOAB, Utah — August 14, 2026 — Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa has officially reopened and is welcoming guests back following completion of all required water system measures.
The Utah Division of Drinking Water has cleared the Ranch to resume operations, and the local health department has inspected the Ranch’s restaurant, awarding it an “A” rating.
The Ranch’s water treatment facility experienced operational disruptions during a series of wildfire-prevention electrical shutoffs across the region. Sorrel River Ranch worked directly with state and local regulators, completed all required corrective measures and received authorization to reopen.
“We are grateful to our guests, team and community for their support, and to state and local officials for their guidance,” said Jason Roma, General Manager. “The work is complete, the Ranch is open, and we are ready to welcome our guests back.”
Sorrel River Ranch also firmly disputes an allegation reported in the media that management directed employees to use swimming pool water for dishwashing. Management never gave such a directive.
With operations fully resumed, Sorrel River Ranch returns its focus to what defines the Ranch: exceptional hospitality, extraordinary adventure and an unparalleled connection to the Colorado River and the red rock landscape of Moab.
