Although Moab is not the easiest destination to get to, rest assured your efforts will be richly rewarded. Until recently, Moab’s remote location has limited traffic and slowed the area’s growth. Today, with the development and expansion of the airline industry and the remarkably scenic highways of the West, Moab is more accessible than ever. Sure, getting here takes a bit more planning than popular urban destinations, but you can be sure that your vacation will be well worth the journey!

Getting to Sorrel River Ranch By Car

Sorrel River Ranch is located at Mile Marker 17 on Scenic Byway 128, just 30 minutes south of Interstate 70 or 20 minutes north of Highway 191.

Getting to Sorrel River Ranch by Plane

There are many flight options for guests of Sorrel River Ranch, which vary in cost and convenience depending on your departure city. Regardless of the airport you fly into, we strongly recommend renting a car for your visit to Moab due to the area’s remoteness, expansive distances, and lack of economical public or private transportation. For guests who are wary of driving, shuttle transportation can be arranged to and from Moab, Grand Junction, and Salt Lake airports. (See Ground Transportation below.)

Guests arriving by private plane will want to fly into Moab Canyonlands Airport (CNY). This small airport, located amidst some of the most spectacular scenery in the US, offers numerous services for private pilots and can accommodate planes of many sizes. For guests arriving by helicopter, Sorrel River Ranch’s wide, open spaces offer a convenient landing site. Please contact the resort in advance so that we may make arrangements for your arrival.

Canyonlands Airport Code: CNY (Moab, Utah)

Located approximately 30 miles from Sorrel River Ranch on Highway 191, Moab Canyonlands Airport is the base for Moab’s scenic flights, and provides daily connecting air service via USAir.

Walker Field Aiport Code: GJT (Grand Junction, Colorado)

Just an hour and fifteen minutes drive from Sorrel River Ranch, Walker Field offers a selection of daily connecting flights on United, Delta, and America West Airlines.

Salt Lake City International Airport Code: SLC (Salt Lake City, Utah)

Salt Lake serves as a hub for Delta Airlines and most major airlines offer daily non-stop service into SLC. Sorrel River Ranch is a 4.5-hour scenic drive south of the city.

Denver International Airport Code: DIA (Denver, Colorado)

Denver is a hub for United Airlines and most major airlines offer daily non-stop service. Sorrel River Ranch is a gorgeous 5.5-hour drive west of Denver.
