- What makes a stay at Sorrel River Ranch extraordinary?

- Are activities included?
Complimentary activities are available throughout the year, including assorted lawn games: ladder golf, horseshoes, bocce ball, cornhole toss, as well as outdoor tennis, table tennis, volleyball, and basketball. In addition, a seemingly endless variety of Moab adventures are available à la carte.
- Can the Ranch arrange all of the activities we’d like to do while on vacation?
Yes, our Adventures Team is happy to arrange all activities and dining reservations prior to your arrival, such as Colorado River rafting, off-roading adventures, guided mountain biking or hiking, horseback rides or spa appointments – whatever you want to do while visiting us. - What activities are available for young kids?
Kids of all ages are in for a special treat at Sorrel River Ranch. Our most popular attraction is the on-site petting zoo where kids can help our wranglers feed miniature horses, potbellied pigs, chickens, goats, and rabbits. We also offer complimentary pony rides! Additionally, kids can partake in an array of lawn games, spend time riding bikes around the ranch, or take a swim in the heated outdoor pool.
- How far is the Resort from Moab and the airports?
Drive time from and into Moab is 20 to 25 minutes via a 17-mile drive along the Colorado River on Highway 128 (a designated scenic byway). The closest major airport is Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) in Colorado, a 90-minute drive (82 miles) away. If you are traveling from Salt Lake City or Denver, Boutique Air flies direct to Moab’s Canyonlands Fields Airport (CNY), which is 33 miles from Sorrel River Ranch.
- How far is Sorrel River Ranch from Arches and Canyonlands National Parks?
It is approximately a 30-minute drive to Arches National Park, and 45-minutes to Canyonlands National Park (Islands in the Sky District).
- How do I know what accommodation is best for me?
Sorrel River Ranch offers a variety of accommodations from studios to family suites – ranging from 400 square feet to 1,000 square feet – as well a 3-bedroom 2,000 square feet Ranch House. Our reservations specialists can assist you with choosing the perfect accommodation based on the number of people in your group.
- What is the weather like?
The weather in our “high desert” location is as varied as its landscape. During the summer, you can expect dry, hot days, with evenings and nights cooling down pleasantly. Winter months are usually in the 40s during the day and dip into the 20s at night. Spring flowers arrive early and sunset are spectacular all year round.
- Can I bring my dog to Sorrel River Ranch?
Yes, and we won’t even make you sit up and beg. Dogs are always welcome and we make sure they have a great time. We have pet sitters available upon request for those times that you may want to have separate adventures.
- Do you have a store on property?
We have a small general store on property for sundries, snacks, apparel, gifts, books, art, souvenirs and some sporting goods. Moab stores are a short drive away, and we offer transportation for hire into town upon request.
- What should I bring with me?
Bring clothes made of quick-drying materials or those that wash easily, especially if you are planning on doing outdoor activities. Make sure you bring comfortable hiking shoes, boots or sneakers, and consider a pair of water sandals or shoes especially if you’re going rafting. Any items you leave at home may be available in our gift shop or in Moab.
- When is the “busy” season?
April through October are our “busiest” times of the year. In order to get your preferred accommodations and dates, we recommend booking as early as possible for these time periods.
- What is the average number of nights most people stay at the Ranch?
The average length most guests stay with us is three and a half to four days. This allows for enough time to enjoy the surrounding areas without being rushed, enjoying the unique landscape of Moab, along with the Ranch itself.
- What is required to make a reservation? A deposit? Is it refundable?
To confirm your reservation, we require an initial deposit that is equivalent to the first night of your stay. This deposit is refundable up to 45 days prior to your arrival date. Full payment of your reservation will be charged 45 days prior to your arrival date.
- What does the resort fee include?
The resort fee includes: Wi-Fi, unlimited bottled water and campfire s’mores, daily guided hikes, pony rides (kids), petting zoo, access to the fitness center, sauna, outdoor pool and hot tub, assorted lawn games, basketball, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, bicycle rental, DVD players with a selection of movies, light refreshments (lobby), use of iMac desktops, and outdoor parking (valet/self).
- What if anonymity during my vacation is important to me?
We are sensitive to the privacy of all our guests, some of whom may be well-known and recognizable. Because we believe everyone deserves a chance to get away, our staff will provide a personalized experience, and ensure that privacy is respected.
- Will I have cell service and Wi-Fi while staying at the resort?
Wi-Fi service is free throughout the property. Please remember that you’re staying in a beautiful remote area, so cell service can be intermittent.
