Helpful Hints for planning your visit to Sorrel River Ranch:

What is the drive time to Arches and Canyonlands National Park from the ranch?

It is approximately a 30 minute drive to Arches National Park, and 45 minutes to Canyonlands National Park (Islands in the Sky District).

What is the drive time into the town of Moab?

Drive time into Moab is 20 to 25 Minutes, but you may wish to take longer, as the 17 mile drive along the Colorado River on Highway 128 is a designated scenic byway. 

What is the weather like in Moab? 

Seasonal (high) temperatures range from 60's to 70's in the spring to 95 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months (June through August) and cooling to 80's and 70's again in September and October; during the winter months, snow is not uncommon, but a range of 40 to 60 degrees is typical. 

What is the closest airport to fly into Moab?

Moab/Canyonlands airport is 33 miles from Sorrel River Ranch. The next closest and most preferred airport is Grand Junction which is 75 miles. For a complete list of airport options and related transportation information, please see our getting to Moab section. 

Can the ranch can take book all of the activities we'd like to do while in Moab?

Yes, our Guest Experience Team can arrange all activities and dining reservations prior to your arrival. Colorado River rafting, ATV/Hummer Tours, Guided Mountain Biking, Guided Hikes, Horseback Rides and Spa appointments - whatever it is you would like to do while visiting us. What should I bring with me?

If you are taking part in some of the above activities, do keep in mind that your clothing may get wet or dirty with 'red rock dust', so quick drying materials or those which wash easily are recommended. Make sure you bring comfortable hiking shoes, boots or sneakers, and consider a pair of water sandals or shoes especially if going rafting. Any sundries you leave at home may be available in our boutique or in town Moab.

How many days should I plan to stay at the ranch?

Average length of of most guest stays is 3.5 to 4 days. This allows for our guests to enjoy the surrounding areas without being rushed and having a chance to relax and enjoy the unique landscape of Moab, and the ranch property itself. 

Can I remain anonymous even if I'm famous?

We have many resort guests who are well known and recognizable. Our friendly staff will provide you with a personalized experience, just as they would anyone else. If you seek privacy, that will be respected.
