Unique Seasonal Activities in Moab
No matter when you visit Moab, Utah, you’ll find a wealth of activities available year-round, both on-site and near Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa. From hiking and sightseeing to shopping and arts festivals, there’s something fun for everyone to do in every season.
Moab shines as a sunny summer destination packed with all-ages activities, both relaxing and ambitious. Activity in the area ramps up during the summer as outdoor enthusiasts flock to the adventure capital of the Southwest to hit the trails, whether on foot, horseback, bike, or all-terrain vehicle.
A number of exciting summer activities are accessible on-property at Sorrel River Ranch. Our private Equestrian Center offers rides for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders, including both group and private trail rides. Our expert wranglers provide tours of the trails, vistas, and views that made the Colorado River Valley a beautiful backdrop for some of Hollywood’s longest lasting images. Our sparkling pool, which overlooks the Colorado River, is a great place to unwind on a warm summer evening, and our property’s hiking trails offer an opportunity to explore without wandering too far.
The area around our resort is an adventure lover’s dream come true. Set out on a rafting or kayaking trip down the mighty Colorado River, sky dive over iconic red rock vistas, take an exciting off-road tour of the rugged terrain, set out on an intense rock-climbing or canyoneering trip, or embark on a mountain biking or hiking excursion in one of the nearby national or state parks.
The cooler months bring additional peace and quiet to Moab, along with a variety of exciting seasonal activities. Make the most of the region’s slower-paced season by spending the day in the town of Moab. Discover a beautiful piece of local art at a gallery, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of downtown Moab’s best restaurants, or find a keepsake at one of the town’s many quaint shops.
The area’s national and state parks are also great places to visit during the winter. Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park each offer something different for the outdoor enthusiast, including hiking trails, stellar views, and impressive rock formations.
Of course, you don’t need to leave our property to find something fun to do during the winter months. Our full on-site fitness center, tennis and basketball courts, and activity lawn offer venues for friendly competition with friends and family and easy ways to stay active. Visit The Spa at Sorrel River and savor one of our relaxing treatments, dine on fine fare at The River Grill, or visit our Equestrian Center and head out on a trail ride — the choice is yours.
